<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">
I have a small kitchen and my old microwave was a full sized microwave that took up a large amount of cabinet space and seemed out of place because of its size. Shopped around and found this smaller sized unit but was hesitant because it is 700 watts while my old unit was 1000 watts. However, I have found that cooking time in this unit is insignificantly longer than the old microwave. A few second for most things. I don't actually cook in it but use it for warming left overs or frozen snacks, etc. For my use it is perfect and it is an attractive addition to my kitchen rather than a huge distraction. If you need a smaller sized microwave, I highly recommend this one.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">It also works well for removing stuck-on dirt from the BBQ grill, patio furniture, or garage. The "steam ready" light indicates when the unit is ready to use, and a steam-control switch provides control over the amount of steam coming from the unit. The cleaner features a storage compartment for its 10 attachments, which include a steam jet nozzle, two extension wands, a triangle brush, an upholstery/floor brush, and a utility brush, as well as a squeegee, funnel, measuring cup, and terry cover for the floor brush.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Great HOUSEHOLD steamer<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"> By Magnus Opus

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">After some research and contemplation, I bought this unit to clean and disinfect bathrooms and other household stuff. By in large, most of the observations from the reviews here have been consistent with what I've seen.
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">PROS:
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">1. Steam lasts a very long time. The manual says it can hold up to 48oz of water from which to generate 2 hrs of steam. This appears to be right if you're holding the nozzle open constantly. In reality, its longer because you have to steam-wipe-steam-wipe repeatedly, letting the machine rest during "wipes". I can get a good 3 hrs of cleaning done on one full tank of water. Also keeping you from holding open the nozzle is that you have to give it time to "recharge" since it appears that it does not generate steam as fast as you use it.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">2. It works on what it claims: most "organic" build-ups like soap scum, toothpaste, dirt, etc. Cleans darkened grout nicely. Doesn't damage the finish on fixtures. I was expecting a little too much on the calcium deposits from hard water... steam just wasn't effective.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">3. Nice supply of attachments (brushes) although its unclear what types of surfaces these brushes can be safely used on. In particular, I refer to the smaller round brushes. For example, my guess is that the brass brushes are not meant for highly polished finishes.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">4. Good enough to clean hard to reach crevices like sliding door tracks (shower doors or patio doors), faucet details, etc.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">5. Works well on car wheels. Brake dust is very fine and a pain to clean by hand. Not to mention that the chemicals are often not meant to touch the brake disc surface (I have yet to figure out how splashing water from a hose can be directed only to the wheel and not the brakes within).

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">6. Steam is the only option for cleaning chemically-prohibited surfaces (I never knew chemical cleaners were not recommended in microwaves!).

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">CONS:
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">1. Its loud! Not the machine, but the steam as it comes out of the nozzle. I strongly recommend hearing protection while you use it when indoors. My ears were ringing for about an hour after my first session.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">2. Steaming takes time. If you're not opposed to using chemicals, often I find that bleach works as good, if not better, than steam. Compared to 5-10 mins steaming a polished chrome bath fixture to get it sparkling, it took 30 secs using your household bath cleaner with bleach.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">3. Steam just doesn't work efficiently on mineral build-up. Chemicals are far more time-efficient. Hard water stains and deposits require lots of time and lots of elbow-grease (scrubbing). And even then, I'm not convinced it was cleaner than using chemicals (i.e., judging from the "gleam" off the surface).

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">4. The steam pressure is not very high. It isn't very low either, but definnitely not high enough to "blow" debris away more than an inch or two from where the steam jet hits. The best approach seems to loosen with steam then wash away with water or wipe away with sponge. Hence, I don't recommend using this for something like cleaning a car engine where neither wash nor wipe are feasible. (I guess you could steam long enough so that the condensed water from the steam was enough to wash away the gunk on its own, but that would take forever.)

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">5. It needs time to build up steam pressure while you work. The light is supposed to turn off when it is ready. While in use, the light will come on when the pressure reaches some threshold. Continued use beyond that point without letting it rest means you work with less pressure. When the tank is full of "condensed" water, the light comes on more frequently. As the water is depleted and more volume in the tank can accommodate vapor steam, the light comes on less often.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">6. The width of the brushes simply do not permit reaching into 90 degree crevices or those really tight spaces. This is minor, however, but a flat or low-profile brush attachment would have been nice. A medium bristle toothbrush is a nice companion in my cleaning adventures...
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Overall, pretty happy with this unit. To be efficient, I've found using a combined balance of chemicals and steam is best. It definitely reduces the amount of chemicals I need to use. For hard-to-reach or delicate surface areas, steam wins outright (with the mentioned toothbrush).

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Product Description
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">The Breville BJE510 Juice Fountain Multi-Speed with variable speeds is a
smart juicer that adjusts speed to extract the maximum juice with
minimal waste. A built-in smart chip increases power to the cutting disc
under heavy loads so juicing is accomplished as efficiently as
possible.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Juicing Versatility and Power
Fruit is largely composed of water, but its selling point is its
nutritional value. How do you extract the juice from fruit, without
leaving the nutrients behind? Breville’s Nutri Disc and patented juicing
system extracts more nutrients than other juicers and transfers less
than 1.8F of heat to protect enzymes and maximize nutrient absorption of
select nutrients.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">The 900 watt motor has speeds ranging from 6500 rpm for softer fruits
and leafy greens like cantaloupe or spinach to 12500 rpm for maximum
extraction from denser foods like apples or beets. A smart chip allows
the juicer to sense the load and adjust power accordingly, making
juicing more efficient.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">The uniquely designed juicing system features an extra-wide feed chute
that is centered over the shredding disc. This allows for more efficient
juicing than systems that introduce ingredients on the side of the
shredding disc. The 3" chute eliminates the need to pre-chop ingredients
before feeding them into the juicer, saving you time.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">The "Lexus" of juicers
By MW TOP

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">We owned a refurbished Waring JEX328 juicer for about two years and my wife used it to make juice for our children and me almost every day. It held up fairly well and we paid almost nothing for it at the time (around 30 bucks, I think), but it finally cratered a couple of weeks ago.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">We debated for a while whether or not to replace it with this Breville model or the Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Pro. We finally decided on this one because it had so many five star ratings and because it is an appliance we use so often, thus we thought it made sense to get the best one we could find, even with its steeper price. While I can't compare it to the Hamilton Beach model, I can compare it to the Waring model, and it beats the Waring model hands down.
As soon as you unpack the Breville you know you have a top quality piece of equipment.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">It does an outstanding job at juice extraction (the pulp is dryer than what the Waring produced, and the Waring actually did pretty well) and the clean-up is far easier. When cleaning the Waring, you had pulp caked up within the machine itself and it was a pain to clean it out, partially becaused it had a higher moisture content but also simply because of all of the nooks and crannies in this catchment section of the juicer. Although this section detached, it was still difficult to clean nonetheless.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">The Breville puts the pulp in a separate container off to the side, and as others have mentioned, if you line it with a plastic bag there is nothing to it. The only "pain" is cleaing the filter device, which is going to be difficult with any juicer you buy. The brush they provide does make this a little easier, however.
Now for the biggest difference: the noise produced when the machine is turned on. With the Waring, you had to pause the television, stop talking, cover your ears, and hope the neighbors didn't phone the cops on you for disturbing the peace. The Breville is FAR quieter. Don't get me wrong, it is not "whisper quiet" or anything like that, but it probably makes one third of the noise the Waring did.
Is it worth the higher price as compared to the Waring or Hamilton Beach? Hard to say. Like I mentioned, we got the Waring for practically nothing and it was a good introductory machine for us for juicing, but SO LOUD!
I can't really find any flaws with the Breville at all (we have run it for about a week now). Considering, however, that it costs almost three times what you can get the Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Pro for (I would chose this one over the Waring purely from my experience with it and from reading the reviews for the Hamilton), whether or not you want to go with this "ultra juicer" version boils down to sheer personal preference. How often you will run it and what variety of recipies you might want to put through it should probably be your driving factors, along side the price difference, of course. The main differences I found with the Breville as compared to the Hamilton were a slightly higher wattage (900 versus 800) and the variable speeds instead of only one, single speed.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">From our perspective, though, we have had no regrets in spending the extra cash for this top model.
EDIT 08/05/08: Just thought I would mention that since this review we bought the Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Pro as a gift for my wife's mother, so we had a chance to directly compare it to the Breville. It did a good job, but it was louder and not nearly as solidly built as the Breville. After this comparision, we are even more satisfied with our decision to spend a bit extra and get this model. The varible speed on the Breville is something you will definitely miss should you go back to a model that does not have this feature. Hope this helps

I had a rice cooker before and know how to cook it on stove-top but this makes it so much more convenient and easy. Cooks rice perfectly and is great for making steamed food and even stews and soups. Check out their website for recipes or just do a Google search for rice cooker or even steamer recipes.

This rice cooker does come with a rice spatula which I wish it was more clear on since amazon does suggest to buy another set. It's not of the highest quality but it's plenty good for most everyone and won't break any time soon.

It also has a water/steam collection container behind the lid on the right side of the electronic interface. Be sure to empty it every now and then, not essentially vital but if you don't, it'll eventually start leaking from being overfilled. I didn't notice it at first so wanted to let you guys know.

I know this is obvious but be careful not to touch the steam vent while it's on. I'm a curious cat and I touched it and almost instantly burnt myself. :( No worries though, it's far from the handle.

EDIT: After 6 months of constant use (3+ times/week), this rice cooker is still going strong.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Customer Reviews
Couldn't live without this!! By Nicole G. Mulder

We live on a sub-tropical island in Japan. It is hot here, (90+ degrees with 100% humidity), most of the year and we are an outdoor family of five. My husband and my three boys are outside all day and night except when at school, work, or sleeping and we all consume TONS of water... I go through 15 gallons of purified water a week!

Needless to say, as typical Americans, we like our ice cold but none of the refrigerators here are equipped with any kind of ice machine. There is not even close to enough space to store ice trays and an ice box in the freezer (at least not for a family of five!) even if you wanted to... which I DON'T... and I got sick of paying for over priced frozen water!

I ordered this Machine and fell in love with the fact that I FINALLY had ice!! There were a few drawbacks in the beginning. As other users stated, it did give the ice a plastic taste. I ran water through it a few times with no success so moved on to the vinegar method. It did seem to help, although there was still kind of a funny taste to the ice. The good news is that after the first, or maybe it was the second, week the ice tasted just fine and you couldn't taste anything except water! It may take a bit longer for the average family for their ice to start tasting normal as we use an inordinate amount of ice,(remember the 15 gallons of water?), but it WILL start tasting normal.

We have owned this machine for almost 3 months now and feel that it is definitely worth every penny we spent. We have never had a problem with it not functioning properly, (and I have a 2 and 3 year old who love to push buttons and wreak havoc on everything), and it makes PLENTY of ice, (We go through a LOT of ice, and although there have been times that there isn't much ice left from what the last person took after a full day of refilling sports bottles, it makes it so quickly that in 15 or 20 minutes or so it drops another tray load in the basket!).

The only down side is also an up side for me. The ice does tend to be a little softer than what comes from the freezer, but that is to be expected considering how fast it makes it... Consequently, the ice does tend to melt a little faster, but I actually like it better because I like to chew on ice and this doesn't break my teeth... plus we mostly drink water so it isn't diluting the liquid in my cup at all so I tend to like the softer ice. My husband who enjoys whiskey and cokes also likes the softer ice because he too is an ice chewer. When we need firmer, longer lasting ice for a cooler or something, we simply let the ice maker make it and we transfer it into a zip lock bag and put it in the freezer for a while, or the night before. No big deal and we didn't have to pay for over priced frozen water at the store!

In the long run, after doing the math, this machine will pay for itself by the end of next month an then will actually be saving us money!

***UPDATE***
We are going on our 6th month of having this machine and I cannot rave enough about it. With a family of five we go through tons of ice daily and this little baby has had no problem keeping up. The ice tastes great and contrary to my previous report that the ice is soft, it actually drops into the tray hard but starts to soften as it slowly melts back into the machine which in turn makes a fresh new batch. I actually have come to enjoy the ice being softer and tend to wait for it to soften before I use it because I enjoy chewing on it.

I rarely write reviews, let alone an update to one, but I can't begin to tell you how happy I am with this little machine. You won't be sorry with this purchase!

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Customer Reviews
Very good range hood! By Roland F. Koontz

One of the comments in previous reviews was that the SS metal was pretty thin. It is, but this is no problem once installed. The lighter weight makes it easier to install. You do have to buy two halogen bulbs separately for this fixture and they cost about $8 each, but they give excellent light down on the range where you need it, and the color illumination is good. Two lamps use 100 watts of power, not excessive for the light supplied. The light switch has a half power light dimmer which works well to both limit the power used, and substantially extend the bulb life. The blower is of the fan type, not squirrel cage, but it is large and moves air adequately. It is not too loud either. Filters are large, easy to install and remove, and can be washed in the dish washer. Over all, this is a very good product.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Customer Reviews
Great peice of machiney, well made, but use these modifications I advise below. Happy Washing! By Michael C

I am writing this review as my washer is running in the kitchen while I am watching TV and it's quiet enough that I dont even hear it while its running. If you are considering buying this product I have some advice for you. If you are going to run this off of a kitchen sink faucet you are going to want to order a Y splitter to hook to the back of the washer so the water from your sink can mix into both inputs on your washing machine.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">To find this product search Amazon for the following: "Y Washing Machine Mixer Hose". If you are planning on running this off of a kitchen sink it will not run properly, even if you select a hot or cold only wash, the machine will still a tempt to mix hot and cold water on certain cycles and if you don't have this splitter hooked up, the machine will attempt to pump water from both input spigots. To fix this issue, install this splitter, which will hook right up to the hose that comes with your washer that has a quick disconnect on it. To make set up easy you need to remove your old faucet head and replace it with the top half of the quick disconnect. When you install it MAKE SURE you wrap all threads all the way from the hot water inputs on the washer all the way to the disconnect installed on your faucet and all threads on the splitter. If every thread does not have Teflon Tape, you WILL get a leak as you are connecting metal to plastic threads.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Some of you are curious about how much clothes this machine can run and I am very impressed with the capacity for thee 1.6 CF stainless steel barrel. I am able to fill the machine up with one normal sized basket of laundry. I have done 5 towels, 4 shirts, and roughly a dozen pairs of socks and a few undergarments in one load, just make sure that your clothes don't sit higher than the three agitator jets on the side of the barrel, or they wont be cleaned and set machine to highest water level.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">My third piece of advice for modifying this machine is that if you are going to be storing this machine in a different place then you will be using it is to purchase a set of 4 wheels. You can get these at your local harbor freight or home depot or lowes, then line them up on the bottom of the machine, drill your pilot holes for where the wheels will be and install your bolts from the bottom and install a nut on each bolt from the interior side of the machine.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">I would highly recommend this unless you want to have two people pick this big boy up to carry it around as the wheels that are on here stock do not work worth a darn. Overall I am completely satisfied with this machine and I would definitely recommend it to anyone lacking washer dryer inputs or space for a larger machine. Oh,....IT IS SO NICE NOT GOING TO THE LAUNDROMAT ANYMORE!!!!! Happy washing all. If anyone has any questions about installing these modifications post a question on here I will answer it

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Cold, Quiet, Efficient and Great price By golive888

Just like other reviewers, I'm very happy with this unit and the cost performance (including operating cost) is great! Here are few things to try to help people who are considering buying this great unit.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">
1. In order to install this unit properly, a vacuum pump, a vacuum gauge and a valve between the pump and the gauge, a hose to connect the vacuum pump and the service port on the low side (larger pipe side) are needed to get rid of air and more important moisture out of high and low side copper pipes and the evaporator inside of the indoor unit before opening the 2 valves at the outdoor unit. There is a way to install it without using a vacuum pump but small amount of refrigerant will be lost into atmosphere. (The refrigerant R410a is supposed to be ozone layer safe.)

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">
2. The low side's service port's fitting size is 5/16, it is not 3/8 nor 1/4. Many AC gauge kit comes only with 1/4 fittings), when buying AC gauge kit, make sure it supports R410a (R410a pressure is much higher than R22, R134a) , a 5/16 female to 1/4 male adapter was needed for me to finish the installation.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">
3. All cables and copper pipes (3/8 OD and 1/4 OD) that come with the unit are only 13ft(4m) long. If the distance between the indoor unit and the outdoor are longer than 13ft, more cables and copper tubes will be required.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">
4. Follow the simple instruction in the small installation manual. FYI: This was my first air condition unit installation ever, All the info on the internet definitely helped, but it's not complicated but please make sure to really tighten the high side fitting very tight, the R410a pressure is very high, vacuum leak check was useful to check any leaks around the fittings, i.e. if vacuum doesn't hold after turning off the vacuum pump and close the vacuum pump side valve, there is a leak.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">
5. When operating at full power(the compressor on and indoor unit fan at high setting), Kill A Watt is showing less than 960W (110VAC input)! The air coming out of the indoor unit duct is very cold, and the fan in the indoor unit is very quiet even at high setting. Outdoor unit large cooling fan is also quiet.
Although I just finished installation, I recommend this unit to anyone, I only hope it'll last long.
I hope this info helps.
p.s. I am planning to power this efficient AC unit by using solar panels, LiFePO4 batteries and DC-AC inverter, no grid power. Zero electricity bill for air conditioning sounds kind of cool :)
